Our education scheme helping 16-19-year-olds to be part of our future film industry has been nominated in the Best Education project category.

Vote for the BFI Film Academy

The BFI Film Academies in Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales have been selected from more than 750 entries to go into the public vote to decide the winners of this year’s National Lottery Awards – the annual search for the public’s favourite Lottery-funded projects. The BFI Film Academy is one of seven finalists in the Best Education project category.

The BFI Film Academy offers a real chance for talented 16-19-year-olds to be part of our future film industry, providing opportunities for committed young people to develop new skills and build a career, no matter where they live or what their background.

Dr Paul Gerhardt, BFI Director of Education, said:

We are delighted that the BFI Film Academy has reached the finals of the National Lottery Awards. It’s a privilege to support ambitious new talent at this early stage of their careers and watch them succeed in their chosen paths.

The National Lottery funding has allowed us to expand our initial Department for Education programme from England into Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales and our partners there have done a great job delivering this comprehensive training programme for motivated young people wanting to work in film.

We’d love to have your vote to help us continue our work developing the next generation of British filmmakers.

You can vote for the BFI Film Academy online or by phone: 0844 836 9678.

Voting closes at midnight on Wednesday 23 July.

The BFI Film Academy also receives support from the Department for Education in England, Creative Scotland and Northern Ireland Screen.
