Christopher Machell

Christopher Machell is a freelance film critic, with a background in English literature. He achieved his PhD in Romantic-era political satire at Northumbria University and has written on animal and monstrous imagery in graphic satire and on film.

Christopher is currently based in Brighton and regularly reviews theatrical and home releases for the award-winning website CineVue. The University of Chichester’s international short story forum, Thresholds, hosts Christopher’s monthly column on literary adaptations in cinema. He has also written features and reviews for Little White Lies, The Quietus and The Skinny. All of his archived writing is available through his blog, CultCrack.
