During autumn 2014’s Sci-Fi blockbuster project, we teamed up with Harper Voyager to bring you #BFIVoyager, a virtual sci-fi literary festival conducted online. As part of that festival, we launched a competition to design a film poster for a classic sci-fi story that had yet to be made into a film.

The response was fantastic and the judges were delighted by some really inspiring and imaginative designs. The winner is a stunning poster for an imaginary film of Isaac Asimov’s 1980 short story ‘The Last Answer’. It was created by Andy King, who chose Alejandro Jodorowsky as the director. “I made it in a cyberdelic style (to match the colourful style of Jodorowsky, whom I appointed as the director),” says King. “I chose an impossible shape to represent the impossible answer/question presented by ‘God’.”
