Comments

Besides being a list of my top 10, these films are the ones that influenced me the most at an early age and shaped the kind of filmmaker I want to be.

M: That whistling!

Los olvidados: The chicken, Meche and the milk.

A Clockwork Orange: Watched it every day for about six months, like a song I couldn't stop listening to.

Aguirre, Wrath of God: Going around in circles.

The Good, the Bad and the Ugly: Faces.

Modern Times: Beautiful timing.

Take the Money and Run: Innocence.

Landscape Suicide: So haunting and affecting. I saw a 16mm projection of it when I was 16 years old. It has become part of my subconscious for sure.

L’humanité: Floating in the garden.

Jeanne Dielman, 23 Quai du Commerce, 1080 Bruxelles: Deeply impressed and influenced me.
