A list like this is inevitably a kind of personal Rorschach test, an in-the-moment snapshot of what I believe to be significant on multiple levels. I’ve tried to find films that have both meant a lot to film history and to me personally, films that have nourished both the artform and the soul. It’s not the same list I submitted ten years ago, but then I’m not the same person.
