I have chosen these ten films for purely aesthetic reasons. I believe they are very close to the definition of ‘artistic perfection’ – or my definition of it, at least. Some of them might not be historically important but I’m sure most inspired numerous filmmakers in many ways. Besides, I think the directors of these ten films succeeded in using film grammar not only to tell a story but also as a way of understanding modern society and human psychology. I also have to mention that those directors achieved their general artistic goals flawlessly.
