Synopsis

Documentary about the Ama-San, or diving women, of the fishing village of Wagu, on Japan's Ise Peninsula. For 2000 years these women have been diving to catch fish and other sea creatues to eat, holding their breath as they explore the underwater terrain. Many of them are aged from fifty to over eighty.
