When a renowned architecture scholar falls suddenly ill during a speaking tour, his estranged Korean son Jin heads to Columbus, Indiana, a city noted for the quality of its modern architecture and public art. He strikes up a friendship with Casey, a young architecture enthusiast working at a library who feels stymied by having to care for her mother. As their friendship develops, Jin and Casey explore the architecture of the city, their relationship with their parents and Casey's reluctance to leave Columbus.
