Synopsis
Documentary that follows the Egyptian comedian Bassem Youssef and the staff who work on his satirical television programme ‘Al Bernameg’ as they create a show that comments on hypocrisy in the media, politics, and religion in Egypt during a period of political upheaval following the Arab Spring. In the face of increasing danger, Youssef ultimately falls foul of government crackdowns and after his programme is cancelled he is forced to flee the country with his family.
