Irrational Man (2015)

Film details

Drama thriller. Abe Lucas, a brilliant, morbid and self-destructive professor of philosophy, arrives at a new college and quickly wins the admiration of his colleague Rita and his student Jill. He is, however, never happy, as he sees no meaning to his life. One day, in a diner, he and Jill overhear a distraught women telling her friends how a corrupt judge is conniving with her husband to ruin her life. Feeling that murdering this judge would be both altruistic and safe (since nothing would connect him personally to the victim), Abe hatches a shocking plan to commit an unsolveable crime. His newfound sense of purpose raises his spirits no end, yet he has not foreseen all the consequences of his deadly choice.
