Film details


Biographical drama about French author Violette Leduc following her from the end of World War II when she was a black marketer through post-war artistic frustration to eventual success in 1964 with her memoir ‘La Bâtarde’. The film also explores her close friendship with Jean Genet and her patron Simone de Beauvoir, for whom she conceives a painful unrequited passion.
