Synopsis

Ben Shepherd and Julia Bradbury investigate unexplained phenomena. Julia visits some residents of Berkeley, Gloucestershire where, on 5th August 2012, seaweed/algae rained down. Julia consults local expert Mark John Lane (Marine biologist) and Charles Powell (Meteorologist). In 1980, in Kirkby in Ashfield, Nottinghamshire, members of marching band fainted. Sir Simon Wessely (Professor of Psychological Medicine) explains the phenomenon of mass hysteria. Ben investigates another theory that a chemical may have been responsible. Julia investigates causes of spontaneous human combustion and talks to Dr Jennifer Rogers (Medical statistician) and Professor Brian J Ford (research biologist). Julia and Ben investigate stories of mythical wild beasts. Examples of dogs that, without any training, have 'super' senses and abilities to communicate. John Bradshaw (Anthrozoologist) explains human-animal interaction.
