Film details

Drama. Sam, a salesman in his twenties, finds his latest business deal collapsing on the same day he learns that his somewhat estranged father, a music industry producer and talent-spotter, has suddenly died. Reluctant to go home to Los Angeles for the funeral, Sam receives a cool welcome from his widowed mother, who fails to see why Sam has so rarely come home to visit them. When Sam meets his father's lawyer (and friend), he discovers that he has a half-sister called Frances, or Frankie, who works as a waitress and is raising a bright but troubled son, Josh, by herself. Furthermore, their father has left a lot of money to the grandson. Sam finds it hard to tell Frankie about their connection, and about the money, which becomes an increasing problem as he befriends his long lost family and their relationship develops. The whole experience leads to some surprise revelations and various changes in the family dynamics.
