Film details

Nana is a single woman in her forties who lives contentedly in Florence with her cat Marcel and runs a bookshop with her friend Benadetta. There is the inconvenience of a Swedish filmmaker who is a guest who has outstayed his welcome camped out in her living room, and giving music lessons to the adolescent son of Benadetta, but on the whole she content and set in her ways. She has no thoughts of love or relationships, although she does harbour a secret love for narcissistic novelist Bauer, who exploits her. When her family bully her into planning the wedding for her younger sister, everything from the planning to the event acts as a catharsis for great changes in her life and her approach to it.
