Social drama involving different generations of the Italian left. Sergio Siniscalchi is a respected left-wing intellectual and a nobel prizewinner. He is invited by a youth group to take part in a conference called "Cambiare il mondo" (Change the World"). They operate from a disused and run-down old cinema theatre in Rome. He is impressed by their community work and outreach programmes and during an interview with their underground television station, he expresses his support and opinion about what he sees as a potential for revolutionary social change. However, Siniscalchi's words are quickly taken up by the mainstream media, putting him in the middle of a political controversy that divides the nation and makes him both a hero and a pariah to different factions.
