Synopsis

Supernatural horror. A university student, Light, picks up a death note which a 'shinigami', or death god, has dropped on Earth. By handing the note to criminals, Light finds he is able to cause their deaths. He duly starts wiping out the criminal community. But the police are keen to investigate the mysterious deaths, and their finest agent, L, is sent to catch the killer.
