Synopsis

Comedy. Based on Nikolai Gogol's play 'Gamblers'. Italian card player Luchino Forza is finally traced down by his numerous creditors and they force him to sign the mortgage for all his properties. He will be put to jail if he does not pay off the debts by the strict deadline imposed to him. In order to avoid imprisonment, he goes to Russia to play cards and thus gain money to save his life and properties. By chance he meets a merry company of Russian gamblers and they agree to work together.
