Boys of Baraka (2005)

Film details

About the Bakara programme in Baltimore (a place of high urban crime) particularly for black youths, that selects the most 'at risk' boys from state schools and offers them two years education at the disciplined but inspirational Bakara School in Kenya. On completion of the programme, students frequently return home to be accepted at Baltimore's most competitive high schools. The film follows four such youths who embark, initially reluctantly, on the programme - until the Kenyan school's unexpected closure due to political instability.
