Synopsis

The second programme in a three-part series featuring films shot by Sagar Mitchell and James Kenyon between 1900 and 1913. Includes interviews with descendents of some of those featured in the footage. This episode covering aspects of sport and pleasure in the Edwardian period includes the first known film of Manchester United football team in action, and the swelling crowds of spectators there and at Preston North End in Liverpool. Also shows people flocking to holiday destinations such as Blackpool and of egg rolling at home at Easter time.
