A tribute to the work of Les Bowie, the film also examines the effect of reduced investment on Britian's ability to compete with American technicians. 2) E.T. & TRON MARKETING FANTASIES: A video essay analysing the differences in marketing for two big-budget Christmas releases of 1982 - E.T. and TRON. Despite state-of-the-art spectacle, presenter John Ellis argues that the films offer the most traditional of cinematic pleasures - getting others to act out our fantasies. Clips include E.T. Includes clips from GANDHI (Attenborough, 1982). 17 mins.
