Synopsis

Considers whether the Johannesburg Earth Summit will be the last of the UN mega-meetings. On-the-spot pronouncements about the summit varied from the `best we could do in the circumstances' to `a downright scandal'. Having followed two delegations, from Norway and the Phillipines throughout the meeting, as they traded draft resolutions until the early hours, two months later, the programme makers interviewed the players to ask for their retrospective views and verdict on the summit.
