Synopsis

A second series of six programmes first broadcast on BBC2's Learning Zone in December 1999. [For details of the first series see BNFVG, 1998]. Through detailed case studies of real-life voluntary organisations, provides training in tackling common problems. The individual programme titles and themes are: `Mind your own business: management and planning' how to ensure that everyone in your organisation agrees on your group's purpose and how to achieve it; `For love not money: managing volunteers' how to make the most of volunteers' skills and ensure that they are happy in their work; `For better or worse: contracts and partnerships' how groups can get the most out of service contracts or working in partnerships; `Show me the money: funding' how to get the right funding mixture, and fundraising; `Sticky moments: conflict resolution' how to deal constructively with conflict; `Chips with everything: IT and communication' how community and voluntary organisations can use IT to improve their services.
