Fifteenth programme in the second series of `Life' programmes, focusing on the impact of globalisation on the urban environment. Looks at progress of efforts to combat iron deficiency in Egypt and Yemen, by the low-cost solution of introducing flour fortified with iron. Iron deficiency is a severe health problem that affects more than 3.5 billion people around the world and causes a range of problems from extreme lethargy to low birth rate, stunting, maternal mortality and loss of productivity on a national scale.
