Fourteenth programme in the second series of `Life' programmes, focusing on the impact of globalisation on the urban environment. During the 20th Century hundreds of thousands of Mexicans crossed the border to the United States in pursuit of jobs, and a better life. In the 21st Century this journey has become increasingly dangerous. Reveals the devastating impact of Mexican-US migration: the suffering, frequent deaths of people attempting the crossing, as well as the undermining of the families and communities left behind.
