Twelfth programme in the second series of `Life' programmes, focusing on the impact of globalisation on the urban environment. Visit Nepal where nine out of ten children suffer from some form of malnutrition, which is so widespread it often goes unnoticed. This is particularly true of protein energy malnutrition (PEM), a condition officially defined as being short and underweight for age, but which, in reality, is a devastating intergenerational cycle of lost potential, both physical and mental. Working with the Unicef office in Nepal, explores ways of changing attitudes towards food/gender.
