Synopsis

Two programmes designed to provide a resource for teachers in mainstream schools who have disabled pupils in their class. They aim to create a forum for teachers' concerns about what might be expected of them, how they will cope and what support they will receive. They present a practical framework for delivering the National Curriculum and managing record-keeping, together with strategies for involving staff and parents in formulating inclusion policies. Teachers show how inclusion can work successfully to the benefit of pupils, both disabled and non-disabled. Representatives of LEAs who are increasingly committed to educating disabled pupils in mainstream schools are also featured. The programme titles are: `The Big picture' and `Teachers'.
