The Philadelphia Story (2000)

Film details

The fifth programme in a thirty part series which tackles complex issues of globalisation and growing inequality. Tells the story of Cheri Honkala, an American citizen living in Philadelphia, who has been homeless, unemployed, and - like 44 million of her countrymen - does not have health care insurance. She speaks about what has happened to workers in her hometown, and warns that America's economic boom could yet prove a disturbing model for the rest of the world. Contributors include Robert Reich, Lester Thurow, Juan Somavia, Naomi Klein, and Francis Fukuyama.
