EUREKA (2000)

Film details

Drama. When a bus is hijacked in a small town in Japan, the incident has repercussions for all involved. When the hijacker leaves the bus for some fresh air, taking with him the bus driver, who faints, police shoot the hijacker, but not before he has managed to reboard the bus and kill another passenger. Two schoolchildren, Naoki and Kozue, witness the incident. Two years later, the bus driver, Makoto, has left his family, then mysteriously returned to find that his wife has left home. Makoto finds work with a construction company, but his strange behaviour leads to suspicion that he may be responsible for a recent series of murders of young women. Makoto leaves home and goes to the house of Naoki and Kozue, staying with them, in relative peace and quiet, until a clerk at the construction company is found dead, and Makoto becomes the chief suspect.
