Joe Dirt (2001)

Film details

Comedy about the fortunes of good-natured loner Joe Dirt, who was left at the Grand Canyon aged eight and has lived on his own ever since. Now working as a janitor at a radio company, he recounts his life story to an abrasive, condescending radio host. Joe tells of his first love, Brandy, whom he met when her pet dog was frozen to the porch; his friendship with a meteor-like ball of matter which has fallen from the sky; his accidental flying across America in a hot air balloon; his encounter with a Native American fireworks salesman near Los Alamos, with whom he finds a metal cannister they suspect is an atom bomb; his capture by the criminal Buffalo Bob; his friendship with a publicity-shy janitor whose New York accent does not fit with the midwestern background he claims; his risky job at Gatorland; and above all, his ongoing search for his parents, the truth about whom proves a great shock for Joe.
