Synopsis
Documentary. The film looks at the life and career of director Andrei Tarkovsky. As Tarkovsky approached death the Soviet authorities finally allowed his son to visit him in Paris, and the film shows the meeting. It discusses recurrent themes in Tarkovsky's work and includes footage of him filming the final scene of "The Sacrifice", as well as clips from all of his films except "The Steamroller and the Violin".
