The sixth volume of a television history of America in the 1950s. Chronicles the treatment of black Americans in this period and the rise of the Civil Rights Movement, from the death of Emmett Till, and the acquittal of his murderers to the ordering by President Eisenhower of troops into Little Rock to escort black students into desegregated classrooms in September 1957, and the growing popularity of black athletes and entertainers.
