Documentary tracing the events of the bombardment and fall of Srebrenica in Bosnia to Serb forces in July 1995, and the subsequent massacre of several thousands of the town's male inhabitants between the ages of twelve and seventy. Takes a critical look at the role of the UN and particularly the Dutch troops stationed in the town, who were given no military backup to prevent the Serbs from taking Srebrenica, but who also cleared all refugees out of their compound into the hands of Serb forces. Follows the separation of men and women and transportation of the latter and children to muslim areas, and the taking away and murder of men at various points of the town and its surrounds and the flushing out and murder of men who had fled to the forests and hills. Includes film taken at the time by Serb television of General Mladic with his men and in discussions with the Dutch commander and others. Also includes interviews with various people who lost members of their families, the man who was an official translator for the Dutch and the Dutch commander. Looks into the subsequent uncovering of mass graves and discoveries of bodies, with eyewitness testimony from some who survived. Also, the prosecution of some for war crimes and the current situation in the town today.
