Comedy. Steve Karamatsis is an unemployed young man of Greek parentage living in Australia. He spends most of his time with his Italian pal, Frank, trying to chat up blonde girls at clubs. When Steve's car collides with a limousine containing the federal minister for employment, Steve demands compensation. In return, as well as revenge, the minister arranges for Steve to be shamed on a current affairs programme on national television. However, Steve wins the audience over and finds himself an unlikely hero of the unemployed. The employment minister, seeking to save face, invites Steve to join her staff, where he is pleased to find himself working with an attractive girl - who is blonde.
