Synopsis

Drama. Diana, a young girl growing up in the Red Hook area of Brooklyn, has a tough attitude to life in general, and is involved in one fight after another at school. At home she has to contend with a weak father who favours his son, an aspiring boxer. When Diana finds herself in a boxing gym by chance, she is perceived as a complete outsider by the men training there, until she begins training herself, under the guidance of Hector, an older man who becomes a surrogate father. The situation is complicated by the attraction Diana begins to feel for Adrian, a young boxer training at the gym, and exacerbated by the fact that sooner or later they will have to fight each other.
