Synopsis

Drama. The story concerns two sisters living in Israel and practising a stringently Orthodox version of Judaism, which decrees that barren women are worthless. With this in mind, one of the sisters, Rivka, is childless after ten years of marriage; her husband, Meir, is under pressure from his Rabbi to remarry in order to have children with another woman. Meanwhile Rivka's sister, Malka, is also under pressure to enter into an arranged marriage with an Orthodox Jew, although she is love with another man.
