Synopsis

Biographical film about Clara Schumann, the talented concert pianist married to composer Robert Schumann. Frustrated and being domestically stifled as a wife and mother, and with her husband suffering from depression, she falls in love with young composer Johannes Brahms and the two being an affair. When her husband dies in an asylum she refuses to remarry and rembarks on a career as a concert pianist.
