Synopsis
Drama. Frank Shore is a disillusioned priest living in Chicago at the end of the 1970's. Shore works on investigations into possible miracles; unfortunately, an earlier case turned into a disaster, destroying an entire community's faith and earning Shore the nickname of the Miracle Killer. Now he is asked by the high-ranking Bishop Cahill to investigate the case of Helen O'Regan, who was said to have performed miracles, and whose statue apparently weeps blood every year on the anniversary of her death. Seeing the phenomenon for himself after meeting several people who knew the dead woman, Shore recommends that a sainthood be conferred on her, but he meets strong opposition in the form of the powerful Archbishop Werner.
