Synopsis

When Tania's husband dies, her grief makes her neglect her son Rato, who starts to get involved in petty crime. The authorities decide he should be put into a home for delinquents. Instead, mother and son go on the run, heading for Lisbon. But just as their relationship improves, the rigours of the journey take their toll on Tania...
