Synopsis
A runaway teenage girl teams up with an eco-warrior protesting against the construction of a road through a forest. They are forced to go on the run together after she knocks out a security guard, but, with the help of a sympathetic older woman, manage to slip through police roadblocks. Travelling with the woman, they exchange stories. The girl and her mentally-handicapped sister were both sexually-abused by the man she thinks is her father. The young man, an animal rights activist is estranged from his father, and the older woman is an ex-Army lesbian suffering from cancer, who wants to die at the Ring of Brodgar on Orkney, a place dear to her dead lover.
