Period drama. Adaptation of the play by Terence Rattigan about a young boy, Ronnie Winslow, who is accused of stealing pocket money from another classmate. Ronnie is expelled, and his wealthy father is furious. He asks a famous solicitor, Sir Robert Morton, to represent him; eventually the case spirals out of control and into the public domain, having repercussions for each member of the Winslow family.
