Synopsis

One of a series of programmes exploring the relations between humans and animals. Follows a year in the life of 26 year-old Gladys Kalema, as she starts her new job as Uganda's chief wildlife vet. She is the first woman ever to hold this position and faces daunting problems coping with the effects on the wildlife of years of civil war and poaching. Her patients include mountain gorillas.
