Chronicles the life of young couple Kevin and Robbie in Hull.

Kevin is an artist who has never had a job and who sees employment, either full-time or "Project Work" now being introduced, as supporting the system he despises. He is put in a quandary by benefit changes which stipulate he may lose his benefit if he does not go on the "Project Work" scheme. His girlfriend Robbie has no such qualms and works in a low-paid job as a seamstress to keep them going, whilst struggling with addictive tendencies from when she was a heroin addict.
