Synopsis

Bio-pic of Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar who was born into the untouchable caste of Hindu India but rose to become a visionary and saviour of his people. Funded and supported by the Maharaja of Baroda, Ambedkar studies in America and England, qualifying as a barrister. He returns to India and begins the process of a social revolution, fighting the tyranny of the high caste and orthodox Hindus, as well as those politicians such as Mahatma Gandhi who opposed the reform of Hindu traditions. Becoming the first untouchable to hold the high office of Law Minister, he is involved in drafting the Indian constitution. Eventually Dr. Ambedkar renounces Hinduism and converts to Buddhism followed by millions of his fellow untouchables.
