Hidden in America (1996)

Film details

TV-movie about a widower who is jobless and struggling to bring up his two children. Having been made redundant and then faced with the cost of his wife's medical care before she died, he has had to sell all his assets. He moves from Michigan to Seattle to make a fresh start but is unable to secure a job as he has no particular qualifications. Reduced to conditions of poverty and hunger, he is still reluctant to accept help (which he regards as charitable hand outs) from anyone. Co-produced by the End Hunger Network, a non-profit organisation working with show business people on projects to relieve hunger.
