Synopsis
Romantic comedy. Melvin Udall appears to be the neighbour from hell. He lays vitriolic sarcasm on gay Simon and his black friend Frank, and is barely tolerated by Carol Connelly, the waitress at the restaurant where Udall always eats his lunch. However, when Simon is hospitalized after a mugging and Melvin finds he has to look after his dog, something in Udall begins to melt.
