Adventures of an old gentleman who leaves the shores of American to take a European rest cure. First he goes to Ireland where he is tricked by Irishmen who let go of his legs when he tries to kiss the Blarney Stone. He then goes to Paris where he is admonished by friends for attending a dancehall of ill repute. After several similar misdemeanours in the Swiss Alps, the ruins of ancient Rome, the Egyptian Pyramids and Germany's mudbaths, he decides to return to New York where his final rest is taken.
