Paddy Boyle's Discharge (1976)

Film details

An old Army colleague turns up and tries to persuade Jack to take up a commission in the Black and Tans and go to Ireland in order to get his own discharge. Jack considers it, but steers clear, well aware of what sort of situation he would be getting himself into if he went to Ireland as a soldier. Another ex-army comrade Paddy Boyle, of Irish descent, notes the presence of the Black and Tans, and is attacked by one of them. Under the persuasion of an Irish Republican he shoots one of them with tragic consequences.
