Synopsis

Lonely old postal worker is constantly annoyed by behaviour of young woman neighbour. Irritated by his complaints, she starts sending him anonymous love letters. Intrigued, the old man hires a sleazy detective to identify the writer. Detective pays a prostitute to play the part. Despite warnings of a friend and the prosititute's obvious contempt, the old man falls passionately in love with her. Meanwhile, his young woman neighbour tries to win the love of a callous tabloid journalist. An ironic fate awaits both main characters.
