Synopsis

The fifth in a series of thirteen programmes. Arthur C. Clarke explores some of the "spookiest and most sinister" instances of ghostly apparitions he has come across, including "the world's wickedest woman" said to haunt the scene of a Florida shoot-out, Roman soldiers marching through a cellar in York, the ghost of an Italian bride in Chicago, a phantom motor-cyclist and a circus train crash.
