The fourth in a series of thirteen programmes. Arthur C. Clarke examines the phenomenon of stigmata, wounds that appear to mimic those of Christ on the cross, bleeding hands and feet, the crown of thorns and sword wounds in the sides of His body. Considers stigmatics from St. Francis of Assisi in 1224 to the first recorded non-white, non-Catholic stigmatic, Cloretta Robertson of Oakland, California who started to bleed profusely in Easter Week 1974, during a maths lesson at her school when she was 12 years-old.
